BONEY M. was founded in Germany in 1975 by Frank Farian. Their first record was titled “Do You Wanna Bump?”, followed by the first album with hits like “Sunny” and “Daddy Cool”. BONEY M.’s success continued worldwide over the following years with record-breaking hits such as – “Rivers Of Babylon; Brown Girls In The Ring; No Woman, No Cry; Painter Man; Mary’s Boy Child; Rasputin; Ma Baker; It’s A Holiday ” and many more – continued.

Liz Mitchell is a Jamaican born British singer who is most famous for being the voice behind Boney M, one of the UK’s most loved disco and reggae bands. Liz moved to London in 1963 with her parents and before long auditioned for a part in Hair. She then moved to Berlin as part of the German cast and took over the part from Donna Summer, before latterly joining the group Les Humphries Singers. It was around this time in 1976 that she got a call from Marcia Bennett to return to the UK and become a part of the band we know and love as Boney M.

DOVE HOUSE RECORDS RE-RELEASES LIZ MITCHELL’S ENTIRE SOLO CATALOG ON STREAMING- AND DOWNLOAD-SERVICES
Liz Mitchell, the world-famous lead singer of the legendary pop group Boney M. will finally re-release her entire solo catalog, which she recorded for her own Dove House Records label, online worldwide on streamings- and download-services. This is the first time her solo recordings appear online officially.
Liz Mitchell started her career 50 years ago in the Berlin cast of the musical ‘Hair’. After ‘Hair’ Mitchell was part of the very successful Les Humpries Singers, and after quitting Liz returned to the UK, but after a short while, she received a phone call from Germany asking to join a new group which producer Frank Farian was forming. Liz gave it a try and soon Boney M. became one of the most successful groups in music history with legendary hits like ‘Daddy Cool’, ‘Sunny’, ‘Ma Baker’, ‘Rivers Of Babylon’, ‘Mary’s Boy Child/Oh My Lord’, ‘Rasputin’ and many more. With Boney M. Liz sold over 150 million records, and the amount of Boney M. sales is still growing. After the split of the original Boney M. line-up in the second half of the ’80s Liz started her solo career in 1988, releasing her debut solo album ‘No One Will Force You’ soon after. Starting all over again after Boney M.’s split, Liz has worked her way up since, becoming a much demanded live act all across the world as Boney M. ft. Liz Mitchell. Besides the heavy touring Liz has continued recording as a solo artist and releasing music since. She has released 5 solo albums, and several single releases and EP’s, including the critically acclaimed spiritual album ‘Let It Be’ in 2004. Liz Mitchell’s solo catalog will be released in 8 different throws during the coming 8 weeks. The first throw will be released on Friday, October 23rd, starting with Liz Mitchell’s debut solo album ‘No One Will Force You’ (1989) and it’s corresponding singles and remixes. The album will be added with 2 bonus tracks and some of the corresponding remixes will be released in a digital format for the first time.
From then on Mitchell’s catalog will be added with a new throw every week, ending on December 11th, 2020, when the digital re-issue program is completed. In total there will be over 80 Liz Mitchell tracks released on the platforms, including some previously unreleased material.
Liz Mitchell’s music will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer Tidal, YouTube Music, Qobuz, TikTok, Amazon etc. worldwide and with this move, Liz Mitchell’s legacy will continue to be accessible to audiences all around the world and generations to come.
